The Military Derivatives Completion Center (MDCC), also known as Sikorsky HAWK WORKS @ Schweizer Aircraft, serves as the primary completion center for all BLACK HAWK and Naval Hawk derivative aircraft. Candidate will be responsible for MDCC corrective actions. Requires daily close interface with both Manufacturing and Engineering departments to solve technical product issues and drive process improvements. Work with peers problem definition with root cause/corrective action processes to ensure effective problem closure. Support and continue ACE initiatives to achieve department and Product Center objectives.

The Role
As a engineer at Bloomberg's Network Security and Services team, you will be a key part of delivering Bloomberg applications and services to users around the world. Our group designs and builds Bloomberg's Internet infrastructure ensuring our products are high-performing, secure, and reliable. We manage Internet connections worldwide from our multi-gigabit connections in our datacenters to our Metro-Ethernet circuits in Singapore. We provide application hosting solutions used daily by thousands of users.
You will join a tight-knit group of engineers who are enthusiastic about technology. You will be expected to provide ideas for complex and interesting problems. You are expected to follow through and solve problems even if it means analyzing packet captures for a week. You will need to eventually be able to troubleshoot production problems quickly and with ease. You are expected to work in an open environment sharing information and ideas with your coworkers and other internal groups.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree
Experience with firewalls, routers, proxies, UNIX-based systems
Knowledge of network protocols like TCP/IP and HTTP
Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
A strong desire to learn while being able to complete tasks in a high-pressure environment
Strong knowledge of network protocols like BGP, DNS, SNMP,VRRP preferred
Strong knowledge of Unix-based operating systems preferred
Experience in writing tools using scripting languages preferred
Experience in securing systems preferred
Knowledge in security technologies including intrusion prevention and VPNs preferred
Ability to write technical specifications and operational documentation preferred
Responsibilities
Oversee the lifecycle of the network infrastructure that make up Bloomberg's products
Build and manage monitoring systems for an enterprise network
